We have seen billionaire businessmen from around the world traveling in expensive cars and SUVs. While some of them like to travel around in expensive cars, there are a few who like to maintain a low profile. One such video of a billionaire businessman from India, Rajesh Hiranandani, has surfaced online. In this video, the businessman is seen arriving in a very unusual car: he is using a humble Tata Nano car.

The video has been shared by Rajesh Hiranandani on his Instagram page. In the video, we see a Tata Nano parked right in front of the entrance of Dhirubhai Ambani Square in Mumbai. Rajesh is seen talking to a valet in front of the mall. After dropping off his car, he takes the receipt and walks away from the car.
He definitely gives some instructions, but it is not clear what exactly they are. While we have seen several Indian businessmen opt for humble rides for their city commute, we have rarely seen any of them use a car as humble as the Tata Nano. Ratan Tata owns a Tata Nano, but that is different from the one seen here. Ratan Tata’s Nano is a custom-built electric car that was gifted to him.
The Tata Nano is a brilliant city car, and the only reason why it did not work in our market was because of the poor marketing strategy. The video was posted by Rajesh Hiranandani with a caption, “What’s in a car!” We see a variety of comments under this video too. One of them wrote, “Wasn’t it true that you used the Nano for moving within your house only?” Another user wrote, “At the end of the day, it is THE CONFIDENCE that matters.”
Many of those who commented under this video were actually appreciating Rajesh for using a humble car like this to commute. The Tata Nano was available with a 600-cc, twin-cylinder petrol engine that generated 37 Bhp and 51 Nm of peak torque. The car was available with a manual gearbox initially. Later, an AMT option was also introduced in the market.
There are rumors that Tata might be bringing back the Tata Nano in an electric avatar, but at the moment, we have no confirmation related to the same. Tata’s Jayem Automotive did build several electric versions of Nano for a cab aggregator; however, due to the pandemic, the deal did not happen, and several Tata Nano electric cars are now available in the used car market.
Other than Rajesh Hiranandani, we have many other rich Indian businessmen who do not believe in showing off their wealth by buying expensive cars. We have Azim Premji, Chairman of Wipro Ltd, who has been using a used Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan for years.
Other than that, we have Ratan Tata who owns cars like Tata Nano EV, Tata Nexon diesel type 1, Honda Civic, and even a Tata Indigo Marina in his garage.
We have Anand Mahindra, who is only spotted in Mahindra cars whenever he makes a public appearance, and we also have Narayan Murthy and Nandan Nilekani who use cars like Skoda Laura and Toyota Innova. Internationally, we have Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos who use mass-market segment cars.
